Positive Behaviour For Learning

Positive Behaviour for Learning is the foundation which provides a supportive climate for personal, social and academic growth for our students and staff.

Our TEAM values, created by staff and students, are followed so everyone can achieve being a valuable citizen of our school, and in the future a valuable citizen of the world.

Our Values T E A M

T: Tu Tangata - we stand tall, proud and are responsible
E: Excel - We do our best
A: Active Learner - We think create and share
M: Manaakitanga - We care and respect all

Together Everyone Achieves More!!

Each school environment has a set of expectations that we live by. These behaviour expectations are taught regularly as part of classroom learning. TEAM tickets are awarded to pupils who show our values, certificates of recognition are awarded at assemblies and we celebrate our success with TEAM events and activities each term.

PB4L School-Wide looks at behaviour and learning from a whole-of-school as well as an individual child perspective. The framework is based on international evidence.

The Positive Behaviour for Learning School-Wide framework, otherwise known as PB4L School-Wide, is helping New Zealand schools build a culture where positive behaviour and learning is a way of life. The framework can be tailored to your school’s own environment and cultural needs.

It’s not about changing the students; it’s about changing the environment, systems and practices you have in place to support them to make positive behaviour choices.

PB4L School-Wide is based on the Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework developed at the University of Oregon in the 1990s. PBIS is now in thousands of schools across the United States and there are over 800 School-Wide schools in New Zealand.
