STUDENT BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT PLAN
We have introduced a demerit system for disobedient behaviour which is the structure that informs the child of where they stand when misbehaving and the plan is to also inform the parents where their child stands on the demerit system as well.
The demerit plan is based on 5 demerits, with parents receiving a letter after 3 demerits informing them that due to continued misbehaviour a series of lunchtime detentions, withdrawal from the playground and walking around with a duty teacher has occurred. Parents are welcome to come to the school to discuss the continued misbehaviour as a stand down is imminent.
If misbehaviour continues and a child accumulates 5 demerits then the child will be stood down from the school.
The child can lose points by being a model student for a term. If a child gets demerits they will lose access to the fun things e.g. right choice day, camps, trips etc.
There will be a zero tolerance of swearing at staff. This means if a pupil swears at a staff member they will be automatically stood down for a few days depending on the severity of the incident.
This plan is designed to keep both the child and parents informed and as a staff we feel it is necessary for the safety of all at the school.
